Getting around in Utrecht
Dinner Program, October 3rd & 4th
Dinner on Wednesday will take place at a location nearby the city centre. Immediately after the Wednesday program is complete (~18:30) we will assemble at a location outside the UMCU. This will be announced during the day. Between 18:30 and 19:00, busses will arrive to take conference participants to the Spoorweg Museum for reception, tour and dinner:
Maliebaanstation 16, 3581 XW Utrecht
BUS (OR BIKE) TO SPOORWEG MUSEUM
The dinner program is expected to end around 22:00. Busses will be on hand to shuttle participants from the museum to Hotel Mitland between 22:00 and 22:30. Keep in mind that the bus schedule is very strict and if you miss your ride you will have to arrange own transportation (this shouldn’t be a problem as we hope you all will indulge in Utrecht’s bicycling culture during your visit).
Dinner, Thursday October 4th
Dinner on Thursday will be at a location on campus (The Basket, Uithof location). This restaurant is a 10 minute walk from the hospital. We will guide you to the restaurant at the conclusion of the days program. Participants will be responsible for their own transportation to hotel/city center etc. after dinner.
If you have any food allergies please let us know ASAP so that we can make arrangements if possible.

GETTING AROUND IN UTRECHT
For up to date schedules and departure times
From Schiphol to Utrecht Centraal station
The best way to travel from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht is by train. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office or vending machines at Schiphol station. Please be advised that, in the Netherlands, return tickets are valid for one day only. There is a direct connection to Utrecht Central; it runs four times an hour and the trip takes you 30 minutes. At Utrecht Central there are buses as well as taxis, which can take you to your final destination. Don’t come by car, Utrecht down town is not accessible by car.
This is the easiest way to get around the city – See here!:
*** NOTE bicycles have the right of way! Always be careful when walking through the city center and especially when crossing bike paths or you may get run over!***
There are several locations close-by the central station where you can rent a bike (prices vary around 8 euros per day plus refundable deposit).
From Utrecht Centraal, the closest location is:
Laag Catharijne rental & repair, Catharijnesingel 28, 3511 GB Utrecht
Generally you will need to leave a form of identification such as a driver’s license while you are in possession of the bike.
The UMC Utrecht lies approximately 5.5km from Utrecht Centraal Station and is approximately 4km from Hotel Mitland.
