About the ISMRM MRS study group

The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) supports several study groups with a specific focus. The Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy study group is one of the world’s largest gatherings of clinical and basic science MR spectroscopists. The study group organizes activities for its members that support education and collaboration between scientist and clinicians. Every 2 years a workshop is organized by the study group members. Attendance is usually around 150 people and includes the most prominent scientists in the field. The format includes invited speakers from the field of pre-clinical and clinical radiology. The workshops feature invited scientific presentations, proffered papers, poster sessions, and ample time to interact with colleagues. The mission of the study group is to facilitate further development and applications of MR spectroscopy to expand knowledge of physiology and medicine; and to foster communication among and between researchers and clinicians interested in biomedical MR spectroscopy.

About the MRS workshop 2018

The ISMRM is endorsing a MR spectroscopy workshop to be held at University Medical Centre Utrecht in the Netherlands, 3-5 October 2018. The theme of this workshop will be Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy 2018: Metabolic imaging, Technological advances, clinical and neuroscience applications. The goals of the workshop are to cover the current best practices in MR spectroscopy to the latest frontiers in hardware, localization and pre-processing, spectral fitting, sequences, quality assurance/reference standards as applied to brain and body spectroscopy studies. In addition multinuclear spectroscopy and emerging MRS methods will be featured. Sponsorship opportunities are available to industry partners who are engaged with the development of new MRI equipment, metabolic imaging strategies, new post-processing software, data management tools and who have a desire for increased communication and collaboration among MRS-focused scientist and clinicians.

Sponsorship Packages

The sponsorship for this meeting will be specifically used to cover the expenses of invited speakers, student
travel awards, and student poster and presentation prizes. All support is very welcome, at a level at which you
are comfortable and happy to work with. We have put together these options for you as an example:

€2,500: Acknowledgment in the syllabus, on the MRS study group web site, on workshop signage, and in a
walk-in slide at the workshop;

€3,500+: Acknowledgment in the syllabus, on the MRS study group web site, on workshop signage, and in a
walk-in slide at the workshop as well as one waived registration to the workshop (this would include workshop
attendance and materials, though not housing and meals);

€6,500+: Acknowledgment in the syllabus, on the MRS study group web site, on workshop signage, and in a
walk-in slide at the workshop as well as one waived registration to the workshop (this would include workshop
attendance and materials, though not housing and meals). At this level we would also be happy to work with
you as an exhibitor to the workshop, providing both a poster-board and table for display (i.e., small booth) in
the poster/coffee break area onsite.
